SF cocktail culture being as nerdy as it is these days, word of a potential shortage of Angostura bitters (brought on by a rumored strike at the Angostura plant in Trinidad) spread like a SoCal wildfire through the bartending community. As Buzzed reports, Cantina’s Duggan McDonnell played the selfish hoarder, immediately canvassing the city’s liquor stores and buying up whatever supplies he could find. But now Nopa’s Neyah White posts word on his blog, direct from Angostura, that production has not been interrupted. Mixologists citywide can now continue making those dashes as heavy as they like, without fear of drought.
