With Sozai up for sale and Nombe in the works, owners Gil Payne and Mari Takahashi have set tonight as their last in the Inner/Middle Sunset. The planned shindig will likely be a happy one for all involved (except those neighbors losing their favorite local izakaya), as the closing party also starts the one week countdown to the opening of Nombe in the Mission. Even though overcrowding hasn’t historically been a problem at Sozai, you may want to make a reservation for tonight to make sure you get your share of the promised drink and food specials.
