SF Weekly Hires Jonathan Kauffman as Critic

The big news this morning comes from the offices of the SF Weekly, where Jonathan Kauffman has just been named their new food critic and blogger. The five-year East Bay Express critic has been with sister paper Seattle Weekly since 2006. Over his career he’s won a James Beard award, first-place recognition in reporting from The Association of Food Journalists, and started the Seattle Weekly’s Voracious blog, the first food blog in the Village Voice Media chain. This last may have had a lot to do with him getting hired, as we learned after Meredith Brody’s exit that the Weekly was looking for somebody with a lot of blogging experience. Anyway, here’s welcoming Kauffman back to the Bay Area. You should start seeing his byline in January of next year.
