Best Job Ever: Sample Beer for $27.50 an Hour

A unidentified “premium Belgian beer company” is hiring some lucky part-timer to conduct tastings for more-than-journeyman rates in San Francisco and Oakland. The catch: It’s only part-time — an hour or two a night just a few nights a week. Still, there are worse ways to kill an evening than spending an hour on the clock tasting beer with people. And you don’t really have to have any qualifications other than liking and knowing about brews. If you need a little brush-up on your knowledge, J.R. Brooks reminds us that U.C. Berkeley’s Hearst Museum will launch an exhibition on beer making and its history this weekend, including an opening-day tasting event on Oct. 10.
