What to Eat at Harvest in Carmel

The guys who brought you last spring’s Pebble Beach Food and Wine have an encore event planned for the Carmel Valley this weekend, and while it’s not quite as glitzy as the original, Harvest Farm-to-Table is still a name-fest. Tyler Florence presides over the whole thing, while the rumor of Rick Tramonto’s possible move to Monterey swirls in the background. Meanwhile, the actual event seems to be a pretty straightforward tasting event with cooking demonstrations and a lot of big-name chefs showing off their locally sourced concoctions. Below, find a small preview of what some of our local stars from the Bay Area and Los Angeles will be making. If you’re interested in attending, tickets start at $85, and can be bought here.

Orlando Pagan, chef de cuisine Silks:
Berkshire Pork Tenderloin, Pumpkin Puree, Tomato Marmalade

Stefan Richter, chef-owner, Stefan’s at LA Farm (and Top Chef Season 5 runner up):
Thai lobster Bisque with shrimp and ginger dumplings

Christopher Kostow, chef, The Restaurant at Meadowood:
Matsutake Custard w/ salad of marinated matsutake, green celery and truffle (Saturday)
Carpaccio of kobe beef w/ pickled cucumber, sorrel and osetra caviar (Sunday)
