Jones Roadhouse Gets a New Name; Cafe Gratitude Hiring

The Bin 38 crew is finishing up its work on the old Jones Roadhouse space and plans to open later this month (or early next) as The Republic. The “modern take on a classic American bar & grill meets upscale sports lounge” sounds way different than the last inception, which was an American bar and grill with lots of televisions playing sports (it was also the city’s only Republican hangout. Don’t know if that will continue). They’re hiring a general manager via Craigslist right now, but don’t worry if you don’t have a recent headshot. Photos for this application are optional.

Also from the Craigslist job board: Cafe Gratitude is hiring for all positions at their new Mexican outlet, Gracias Madre, which they expect to open in October. Despite their long-suspected (and recently inflamed) reputation for cult-like weirdness, the bilingual ad on Craigslist seems fairly straightforward. No goddess worship or togetherness circles mentioned. Instead, they pay $9.79 an hour and require four shifts a week. Weirdos.
