Rosamunde to Open in the Mission — With Beer!

Rosamunde to Open in the Mission — With Beer!

It looks like the Lower Haight's sausage paradise Rosamunde Sausage Grill is planning either a second location or a relocation to the current Cafe Arguello space in the Mission. We found this application for a beer and wine license online yesterday, and a source close to the deal tells us negotiations are underway for the sale of the the tapas/fern bar at 2832 Mission St. This would be a pretty serious step up from the current Rosamunde location, which features tiny counter stools and no beer. The new space is about 2,000 square feet, and while it doesn't have outdoor seating, it has these enormous windows that give that feel. It also has a bar so traditionalist patrons can still eat their Rosamunde sausages while sitting on a tiny stool, like usual.

  • I hope this is only opening a second location. THE CURRENT LOCATION NEEDS NO BEER and you DON'T NEED TO EAT AT THE COUNTER because you eat at the toronado!!! wth. it's a perfect symbiosis in the lower haight right now. DON'T FUCK WITH IT.

  • Traditionalists don't eat their sausage on a tiny bar stool; they eat it in the Toronado next door! I'm stoked for walkable Rosamunde, but if this is a move rather than a branching-out, they will be sorely by hungry beer geeks the world 'round.

  • Schmidts recently opened up on Folsom and 20th I think. It is a German Sausage restaurant that will soon be featuring beer. I believe this means Sausage War! But an awesome Sausage War nonetheless. I love Christina and her sausages!

  • I really want this to happen, too, but I have to wonder if an Italian with chutney onions and peppers will taste as good if it's not served by a surly grillmistress who snarls at people that don't tip?
