Foreign Cinema’s 10-Year Anniversary To Close in a Flurry of Magic and Henna

Much like ourselves, Foreign Cinema likes to stretch its birthday celebration out for weeks and months. This year’s 10th anniversary party has been going on since January, but the last gasp is nearly upon us. On August 20, the final shebang will be a mixer with free-flowing champagne, beer, and wine, a special “Tonga cocktail,” the full oyster bar, and heavy appetizers like cheese and mini Parsi burgers, as well as “magicians, dancers, henna artists, acrobats and jugglers,” according to the restaurant. They’re going to clear out the seating to make room for dancing and juggling and whatnot and there will be an auction of skateboard decks designed by local artists, with the proceeds going to Drawbridge, an arts organization for homeless kids. Tickets are $65 for the 6 p.m. party, and you can get them by calling the restaurant. Then after that Thursday it’s going to be all business for the next ten years.
