Everybody enjoying Google’s new “My Favorite Places” lists? We mentioned Alice Waters’ choices to you yesterday, but we’d also like to point out some of the other local notables’ dining obsessions. Among the food-elite Google recruited to share their top San Francisco picks: Michael Mina, Gary Danko, Vintage 415 founder Nate Valentine, and Mr. Plumpjack himself, Mayor Gavin Newsom. In a bit of super-liminal marketing, Google has been placing big replicas of its map markers at places picked by its celebrities. Foreign Cinema got a couple nods, including one (pictured) from filmmaker Tiffany Schlain. The marker showed up on the sidewalk out front yesterday, and we expect you’ll see more of them popping up around town this week. Keep an eye out.
