Ducca Chef Heading for Oakland; Pi Bar's Pizza Math
The pizza news comes hot and heavy these days. Scoop has it that former Ducca chef Richard Corbo will be heading to Oakland to open Pizzeria Zanna Bianco in Jack London Square next spring. The operation will include wood-fired pizzas, pastas, and a separate retail bakery.
Meanwhile, in the Mission, Pi Bar (slated for mid-August) shares some calculations with Zagat: "Large pies will be 22 inches in diameter, divided into seven slices (to equal π, get it?), while regular slices will cost - you guessed it - $3.14 each."
