It's got to be hard to be a Hooters waitress. One imagines drunken, horny patrons ogling not just the Buffalo wings in your hand, and making cracks about plenty more than the hot sauce. It certainly can't help to have your boss pinching $40 of your tips per day. That's how much a group of eight former waitresses who sued four local franchises yesterday say they had to share with management. They also say they were shorted lunch breaks, had to buy their own uniforms, and had to pay for patrons who dined and dashed — all illegal practices in California. This is a serious workplace issue, and we're not trying to make fun, but you've got to admit, there's something hilarious about a stiff-collared legal document that uses the words "bikini shoots" three times.
