OpenTable Staff Keeps it Mellow for IPO Party

OpenTable staff had every reason to go nuts yesterday, what with their 60 percent stock jump on their IPO, but an employee there insists the celebrations were muted. A New York contingent of, “about 20 folks, including our whole New York office, had a fun, mellow dinner at Blue Smoke in Manhattan,” our source said. Blue Smoke owner Danny Meyers is on the board of OpenTable. That same group headed to the Nasdaq to ring the opening bell today, then will hit up Blue Smoke for dinner again tonight. Other offices, including the San Francisco headquarters, got treated to breakfast and, “a small happy hour.” We’re guessing there are scenes missing from that recap, but that’s alright. We’re glad somebody out there is partying like it’s 1998.
