Here's a batch of dinner and wine specials for your weekend planning and beyond, including a few last-minute Easter specials, and some great wine deals.
In case you haven't made Easter plans:
• 1300 on Filmore, that soul-food stalwart in San Francisco's Jazz District, is doing a gospel Easter brunch, with live music and a $39 prix fixe. They recommend a reservation for either the 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. seating.
• Park Chalet will do their regular Recovery Brunch Sunday, with its $35 bottomless buffet and mimosas. In honor of the holiday, there will be an Easter Egg hunt on the lawn.
• Bushi-Tei is doing a special two-course Easter brunch for $25.
• The Carnelian Room, while not exactly bargain basement, does have an unbeatable view to go with its $82 Easter buffet.
Some ongoing specials:
• Palio d'Asti is offering $1 martinis from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. through the end of the month. Toss a few of those back with some special grilled wild boar chops for one of the most satisfying charitable meals downtown.
• Fior D'Italia has a few specials going on, including half-priced glasses of wine on Mondays, half-priced pasta on Wednesdays, and kids eating for free on Sundays.
• La Provence is offering half-priced bottles of wine with dinner on Wednesdays.
• Levende is also doing half-priced bottles of wine with dinner on Wednesdays, as well as a nightly late-night happy hour menu (pdf).
Some dates to save:
• On April 15, Daily Grill will pay the sales tax on all checks, all day.
• Coco500 is planning a special wine dinner with a head-to-tail spring lamb menu, paired with Donkey and Goat wines.
• AIDs fund-raising event Dining Out For Life is coming up April 29. Check out participating restaurants here.
• Another boost to your karma: Taste of the Nation is scheduled for April 23.
• Looking even further ahead, Rose's Cafe is planning a spring wine dinner for May 5, at 6:30 p.m., featuring pairings from Palmina Winery.
