Barbecue fans, take note: If you've ever wanted to own an old-school, down-and-dirty San Francisco barbecue joint, or wanted to eat in one of the few remaining, please turn your attention to Jordan's House of Ribs.
The Bayview staple listed for sale on Craigslist has been family owned since the dawn of time (1959) — first by former boxer Sam Jordan, then by his son Allen Jordan after Sam's death in 2003. Sam Jordan was also the city's first black mayoral candidate and was nicknamed "Mayor of Butchertown." Also, they have great ribs. Great.
But now they're for sale, listed at $785,000. So if you have a hankering for barbecue — as a diner or an entrepreneur — we suggest you get down there.
