How To Turn $1,500 Into $300. In A Good Way.

caviar ARASK.jpg

Does that $1,500 figure ring a bell somewhere, but you just can't place it? It has shown up on this very blog before, as the price tag of a special, 21-course dinner offered by Thomas Keller and Grant Achatz back in November and December. The pair took a bit of flack for their extravagant offering, in part, we suspect, due to jealousy. Could anybody who could actually afford that meal truly appreciate it?

Well, now you get a chance to find out. Sort of. Brooklyn-based culinary experimentation organization A Razor, A Shiny Knife is offering a replica of the feast for just $300 this Friday and Saturday. It's sort of an informal/underground thing, and we didn't see anything explicitly about the event on their website, but since it's already up on Thrillist, we figure our modest coverage can't hurt. Location is TBA, so you have to e-mail them through their website and take it from there.

And if you want to take notes or pictures and send them to us, we'd be really happy and would post them here along with lavish thanks for your generosity with your work.
